Specialist consultations
Specialist consultations and comprehensive healthcare programs offered by Columna Medica: we provide specialist consultations in various medical areas, such as orthopedics, general medicine, neurosurgery, nursing care, clinical nutrition and dietetics, physiotherapy, cosmetology and aesthetic medicine.
Manual therapy
Manual therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy, which focuses on alleviating pain and improving the overall physical wellbeing of the patient. It can serve as both a diagnostic tool and treatment method, and involves techniques such as joint or spinal manipulation and mobilization and targeted pressure on muscle tissue. It is a holistic form of therapy, addressing specific conditions more broadly. It is commonly recommended for conditions like back and joint pain, neuralgia, and in the rehabilitation of patients after certain surgeries, such as ACL reconstruction.
Individual physiotherapy sessions
Individual physiotherapy sessions, recommended in certain cases, take place in specially designed physiotherapy rooms or our gym. The patient is first introduced to tailored exercises, with a clear explanation of the muscles being targeted. The sessions are supervised by a physiotherapist, who monitors and assesses the correctness of each exercise and can make necessary adjustments if required.
Functional training
Functional training is a technique where a specialist develops an individual training plan, unique for each patient, taking into account their specific requirements. The program can be designed for either in-clinic sessions, or as a home workout plan. It includes a pre-exercise evaluation and assessment by a physiotherapist, who identifies the key areas to target, with the objective of enhancing the patient's mobility or augmenting muscle strength.
Therapeutic massage
A therapeutic massage for different body parts is tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. The sessions incorporate a blend of classical, deep tissue and functional massage - adapted to the specific health conditions and requirements of the patient.
AQUATIC THERAPY
Aquatic therapy, in the form of group or individual exercises, is tailored to accommodate the specific health needs of each patient. The sessions are led and closely monitored by a physiotherapist. The effect of water significantly reduces impact on joints, thus aquatherapy is particularly recommended for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries. It is also beneficial for various neurological conditions, it reduces stress and anxiety levels, enhances circulation, decreases swelling and has an effect on muscles and ligaments elasticity.
Dry needling
Dry needling is a therapeutic technique, where needles are inserted into hyperirritable spots called myofascial trigger points.
During a dry needling treatment, a therapist inserts a thin needle into the skin and muscle tissue, which stimulates and releases tension in trigger points. It alleviates the pain, improves muscle elasticity and increases range of motion.
Physiotherapy
Therapeutic modalities refer to the administration of light, electrical, ultrasound or electromagnetic energies in physiotherapy. They yield therapeutic response, accelerate recovery and stimulate the immune system.
Modalities provide therapeutic effects in reducing swelling, decreasing inflammation or wound discharge. They are particularly effective in reducing inflammation correlated with degenerative disc disease and promote wound healing and tissue regeneration processes, making them a frequent and beneficial complement to physiotherapy.
HYDROMASSAGE
Hydromassage with color therapy
Discover a unique form of therapeutic water massage, enhanced by the use of colored lights. Automatic pressurized jets and calming lights of different colors deliver not only therapeutic effects, but also create a relaxing ambiance to uplift your mood. Book a hydromassage session in our clinic and enjoy the benefits it provides for your physical well-being and your mental health.
SPINE AND POSTURE ANALYSIS
We offer comprehensive postural assessment, using the pioneer Diers Formetric 4D scanning method. This innovative system enables 3D/4D static and dynamic spine & posture analysis, and provides comprehensive information to help identify possible postural disorders. Diers Formetric 4D is a high precision device, which helps our healthcare specialists in designing personalized therapeutic plans for our patients.
Lab tests
We offer a wide range of comprehensive diagnostic tests, essential to monitor the health of our patients. Our diagnostic packages are tailored to meet the specific needs of each person. They include lab tests which help evaluate kidney, liver or bone marrow function, or hormone blood tests, used to diagnose circulatory system and thyroid disorders. We also offer specialist tests for celiac disease, or ImuPro blood analysis for food allergies.
Diers Formetric 4D scanning method enables 3D/4D static and dynamic spine & posture analysis.
Indiba is a multifunctional medical device which improves the efficiency of physiotherapy through the application of radiofrequency waves. It helps with tissue repair and regeneration, reduces pain, supports lymphatic drainage and enhances anti-inflammatory mechanisms, thereby accelerating the regeneration process. It is used in scar treatment, including post-surgery scars, as well as in the management of inflammation, neuralgia, back pain, muscle tears, joint sprains, bone fractures, swellings and podagra attacks.
Ultrasound machine is a noninvasive imaging device, used in diagnosing soft tissue structures, such as muscles, tendons or ligaments. Functional ultrasound imaging is a diagnostic tool which allows the assessment of muscle and tendon properties and kinematics.
NEURAC suspension based system allows precise patient examination, helps activate local spinal stabilizer muscles and supports peripheral joints stabilization.
The device with a series of mechanized massage heads applies multi micro-alveolar stimulation in drainage massage. It allows to treat and improve many problems and pathologies related to circulatory, venous and muscular system disorders, improving their function. It offers targeted treatment for reducing joint and muscle inflammation, improves the elasticity of skin to promote scar healing, helps in regulation of intestinal peristalsis, helps firm and tighten the skin after liposuction, treats lymphedema and reduces stretch marks.
Cryotherapy uses extreme cold for the treatment of injuries, overload syndromes or degenerative conditions. It helps relieve pain and inflammation and reduce swelling. Furthermore, cryotherapy combined with kinesitherapy improves joint mobility
Electrotherapy uses electrical energy for medical treatment and includes procedures such as iontophoresis, galvanization, electrical stimulation, interferential current therapy, Trabert current, diadynamic therapy and TENS. It is mainly applied for the treatment of acute and chronic back pain, joint and soft tissue inflammation, sciatica, rheumatic disorders, headaches and migraines.
A device which uses high frequency sound waves to cause a micro-vibration within the tissue. This vibration creates heat energy that increases blood flow and the delivery of oxygen to the area. It is commonly utilized to treat muscle pain, sciatica, degenerative joint disease of the hip and knee, shoulder impingement syndrome, or calcaneal spur. It is also recommended in the treatment of scars, contractures and muscle fibrosis.
Local treatment using a device that delivers low-frequency mechanical waves. The wave is generated in a short amount of time and under high pressure, penetrating the skin to a depth of several centimeters when applied to the affected area. This procedure is most commonly used in conditions such as degenerative changes in the wrist area, tendon pain (including patellar tendonitis, Achilles tendon), calcaneal spur, tennis/golfer's elbow, inflammatory conditions of muscle and fascia attachments, post-traumatic pain, increased muscle tension, and calcifications of tendons.
A treatment involving mechanical tissue compression using the AERIFY CHARGE system (a portable pneumatic compression device), designed for patients with post-surgical swelling or swelling related to venous insufficiency.
